The second tea I've tried from my big care package from
SpecialTeas.Com was #881, Decaffeinated Darjeeling (no other designators; I guess they're giving their customers that to their credit). I love the smell of this stuff in the bag. Very flowery and fruity. It gets much more subtle in the cup. Best decaf I've ever had by a ton, one of the better teas, and a better Darjeeling than the Twinings loose BP in the plum colored tin. And maybe the best part of it: there was a familiar scent to the tea in the cup, and now that it's cooling a bit it just struck me. It has this sweet/deep note that is my favorite part about the Te' Teas Yin Zhen Silver Needles white tea I was posting about last week. That, in a Darjeeling, and it's decaf? This my new favorite tea. But I have like 6 or 7 more bags to try, so we'll see how the rest of the week goes. --Blair "Xmas in June, baby." P.S. Babelcarp says "yin zhen" is literally "silver needles". But "te' tees" is redundant, too, so maybe it's a style thing. |
