Default help finding a tea(ginseng)

Hi Folks.
I am looking for a ginseng tea that a Vietnamese freind turned me
onto about five years ago. He told me it was also popular in Thailand.
Anyway, this "tea" comes in a small jar and is thick like tar. To use
it you put a *very* small amount in a cup of hot water. It tastes
terrible but it wakes you up like right now. Anybody out there know
what I'm talking about?
