Just a quick question: Does anyone else have trouble getting a
response back from Specialteas E-mail customer service? I've written
them multiple times and have yet to receive a response. Has anyone
here EVER gotten an E-mail response from them? Just curious...

I had a problem with some tea I purchased from Special Teas. They responded
to my e-mail and remedied the situation.

I have some Yahoo email accounts. I just recently switch to MSN and
Hotmail. The same problem with either provider some email was
identified as junk until notified otherwise. The filters was set to
low so I can't figure why they were even suspected of being junk.

Default Specialteas (and an addendum about an oolong)

Thanks for the input Blue and Jim. Jim, I sent them E-mail from my
local ISP address (not Yahoo) so I don't think that filtering might be
a problem. I have noticed at times (it seems to go in cycles or
something) that some or many internet businesses may not answer my
E-mails for some reason, whether it's just that it's a busy time of
year or what I don't know. Also some of these businesses take
vacations at times and of course I wouldn't get an answer back then.
If they're not on mid-summer vacation then I'll just have to call them
(again) and ask what the deal is. The only reason it's frustrating is
that many times I have a question that I jot down in an E-mail in the
evening (I'm on the west coast and they're on the east coast, so
anything past say 4 or so my time they would be closed to live calls)
and while it doesn't need to get answered right away, I don't like
E-mails dropping into the black hole of no response either.

Cheeky of me I know..

BTW, thanks Jim for your input to the group about "cheap" teas...I for
one like to hear about things other than the most expensive seeing as
how I can't afford those anyhow...I found a stunning (to me, the
newbie) Tai Kwan Yin in a cannister at my local Asia Market (or maybe
it was Boo Han (Korean), can't remember right now)The leaves are
fairly large (probably a good inch long after steeping) and have that
distinct two leaves and a bud attached form...beautiful when they're
wet and unfurled. There is some particle tea at the bottom...some of
the leaves got broken in the canister it looks like. It was $18 for
250 grams (yeah steep but it has a pretty tin and was the only TGY I
could find at the market)(excuses excuses lol) and says Fujian Oolong
Tea Butterfly brand, Product of China Tohsu Fujian Tea Imp. and Exp.
Corp. People's Republic of China. They have an address if anyone's
interested. The tin has a sealed lid (that double seal thing). Thought
I'd share, and see if anyone had anything to add.

The only time I have had contact with them is when I asked about the
Chinese words on the Buddhist Prayer Yixing teapot. They were quick in
responding, but they didn't know what it said, which was very
disappointing, as I really would like to know what it says.

Is it possibly the Heart Sutra? That's a fairly short one...

order from them they sent me a free sample of chun mee, the tea which
I had called to complain about from my first order! (the only time in
my life I had ever called a tea company to complain by the way).
Adequate tea with bad customer service...Specialteas is at the bottom
of my list.

By the way, this is my first post so; hello to all the other tea
lovers, and be patient with any faux pax I might make.

Yeah, I know Joanne, but it is still very frustrating...trying to send
another E-mail and again it is not being answered. If they don't have
the resources to answer E-mail or whatever than they should not OFFER
an E-mail and simply put on their website that one must call in to get
an answer to a question, IMO.
