Default Order came today - chatsworth worth it?

Those guys at upton are fast. Put the order in on Monday night, got it
today. Sipping a nice tall cup of TD60 right now. Ahhhhh...

Hey, I'm thinking of getting just an inexpensive extra tea pot for my stuff,
a 4-cupper (that's 9.46 deciliters for you Euros) cuz all I have now are 1's
and 2's.. Do Upton's chatworth ones do the trick? There are three types,
right? The standard, the bone china and the commercial. Anybody have any
of those? They have a special on the bone china one right now.

Thanks!

I just picked up a 6 cup standard one in brown from Upton's last week and it
is great!
The thing I like compared to my Beehouse pot is that even for a bigger pot
the infuser basket goes down deep so if you only want half a pot the water
still covers the tea.

That was actually my next question. Usually I only brew about two cups at a
time.. how far are the bottoms of the infuser baskets from the bottom of the
pot? Thx!

On my 6 cup it is approximately 1/2 inch from the bottom.

Hi,

When you get your 4 cup pot, would you post what the true capacity is in
ounces? I know it's supposed to be 24 oz (with the infuser in place would
be fine.) I bought a 4 cup Brown Betty that was sold as a 24 oz pot. It's
really a 1 liter...it holds just over 30 oz. I was interested in a true
24oz that I could also use for 12-16 oz pots as well. I've also found that
the BB with or without a tea cosy seems to overheat my morning Earl Grey and
kills the bergamot. So I'm in the market for yet another teapot!

Thanks!

Renee

YES! I got the 4-cup, 24 oz, bone china. It was the best purchase I ever
made so I ordered a 2-cup Arthur Wood Chatsford which turned out to be 16 oz
instead of 12 oz and ordered a extra baskets for both pots for when I want
something else in between green tea infusions.

What size Beehouse do you have? For my 22 (or whatever it is) oz pot, I put
the basket away and use a mug-size Teeli basket instead. I know that the
Beehouse basket is short so that infusing stops when you pour the first cup
allowing you to enjoy w/o fiddling with removing the basket until you've got
everything back in the kitchen, but I don't care about that when I'm making
tea for only myself.

I have the smaller 15-16 oz so it's not much of an issue unless I just want
one cup.
I do have a basket from one of my bigger pots that may fit the Beehouse.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks.

Mike
