Iron rusts... you were fooled if sold on an "iron" that does
not rust. however... rusted ironware can be beautiful... the rust wont hurt you (actually it has health benefit), nor is it a sign of weakness or defect in the product. The heating (expanding) and cooling (contracting) of the iron will slowly destroy the bond between the melamine and the iron... if you plan on using your pot then this circumstance should be expected. Back to the rusting... so long as the melamine is intact, not scratched and not cracked, then the iron would not be exposed to water and air and would therefore not rust, but as soon as iron is exposed to water and air it will rust. and as soon as you begin heating and cooling and heating and cooling your pot, the melamine will begin cracking. so... dont worry... and dont be disapointed... your pot is still beautiful. .. |
