Default India working to get TRIPS protection for Darjeeling

Interesting article on India's efforts to get the WTO to accord trade
protection to Darjeeling tea and Basmati rice. Also interesting to note at
the bottom of the article how India is also trying to get protection for
traditional herbal medicines like neem:

" The move has been necessitated as western countries have made attempts to
get patents on Basmati rice and neem. "

Good for them, I suppose, but I doubt this will help consumers, for
almost all Darj forgeries are Indian, right?
