World Hunger And Meat Production

http://millionsofmouths.com/blog/nfblog/?p=104

"The 4.8 pounds of grain fed to cattle to produce one pound of beef for
human beings represents a colossal waste of resources in a world still
teeming with people who suffer from profound hunger and malnutrition."
-Jim Motavalli

"Tyrants have often used the claim of land-ownership to justify a
non-meritocratic and authoritarian social structure. They claim they
own the land to create an illusory economic system in which they have
all the pseudo-wealth and power." -Scott Hughes

A couple of problems for your little rant is that people are not
hungry because I eat meat. There is already more than enough
food to feed the world, and the beef I eat is not fed any grains.
Guess you spew of hate just bit the dust with the rest of your
strawmen, huh killer?

If you call that a rant, the cattle you're eating are probably still being
fed Scrapy-ridden sheep meat and you've got the dreaded NVCJD! - a disease
is totally down to the animal feedstuffs industry's GREED!

And it's more like 10lbs of grain, actually.

I do not, but many meat-eaters like yourself have such brain damege, again,
because of the animal feedstuffs industry's GREED! All the insults in the
world will not change that fact!

There is nothing reputable AT ALL about the meat industry and only the worst
moron in the world would defend it! - or someone in the pay of the industry!

All the hand waving in the world by loons and dolts like you wont
mean that all beef is fed 10 lbs of grain per pound of meat.
It's a lie. But then, you already really know that but just

grain, zero, nada, zip.

Could she truly be too dishonest to grasp how ignorant she
is...and/or truly too stupid to grasp how stupid?

The hate is clear enough, but if there's a distinction between
deliberate dishonesty and true ignorance it's hard to tell.

You undoubtedly have some significant problem with comprehending
or with honesty, or most likely with both.

Wrong. Anyone who cares as much or more about human influence on
animals as they care about promoting veganism, would necessarily take
what Etter's been pointing out into consideration. Amusingly--though even
more pathetically--veg*ns very obviously do NOT! Sadly, all the insults in
the world will apparently not change THAT fact.

Hate? Who?

Did you read the linked article?

I clearly said that there is enough food to feed everyone already. I
also clearly said that I'm not judging people who eat meat. In fact, I
even said that I won't throw stones because I live in a glass house.
The point of the blog post was clearly to show that why I choose to not
use more than my fair share of anything, such as land, and thus don't
eat meat, which requires more land and water to produce.

It seems you're making strawman's, not me.

LOL Really? What does this say?
"...When we buy expensive meat, we perpetuate the socioeconomic
problems that both victimize us and contribute to world hunger
and poverty..."

2 major lies right together. What a hoot, fool. Meat does not
REQUIRE more.
Tell us how much land and water are needed to 'produce' venison.
Tell us how grass-fed beef uses more. The fact reamins that
mono-culture crop production IS environmental destruction and
habitat destruction, using massive inputs of chemicals, power,
and resources. Grazed animals and wild game use almost none. Do
you even have any idea what this so-called 'rich in meat diet'
involves? 90% of what the 'typical' American eats? 80%? 75%?

Meat/eggs/nuts consumption of this typical American diet runs in
the 240 pound range per person. Compare that to the total food
per capita 2003, 1950 pounds.
Then notice that vegetables are almost twice that. How can that
be? Afterall, we all know from the propaganda sites that this
typical American diet is almost exclusively meat, right?!
Hell, we even eat more fruit than we do meat! 275 pounds.
http://www.ers.usda.gov/AmberWaves/N...onsumption.htm

I know that facts get in the way of a good rant based on delusion
and lies, but since that's all you have I thought I shed some
light on the ignorance posted by veg*n loons...

Again, there is NO 4.8 pounds of grain fed to the beef I eat.

That says what it looks like it says. Did you read the following
paragraph:

"Obviously, world hunger and the causes thereof extend far beyond
inefficient food production. In fact, the world has enough food to feed
everyone in the world, even with current inefficiency. Neither
vegeratarianism nor veganism can solve this problem alone. Political
and socioeconomic phenomena cause the world hunger and poverty
epidemic, namely corrupt governments, non-meritocratic social
inequality, and disrupted trade routes."

That paragraph in no way contridicts the sentence you quoted.

Thanks for wasting my time.

Are you actually suggesting that it doesn't take more resources to make
meat?

Yes, I am. There are many meats that cause far less
environmental damage and harm far fewer animals in the process
than many veggies. Tell me how much environmental damage is
caused by venison. Grass-fed-beef? Free roaming chickens? Just
as there are veggies that cause far more environmental damage and
animal death than other veggies. Why do your ignorantly believe
that ALL meat causes more harm than ALL veggies? Try researching
bananas once. They are responsible for the destruction of Costa
Rican rainforests AND coral reefs. Tell me how you figure that
mono-culture cropping is NOT the definition of environmental
damage. You take a natural habitat, rip it to shreds and place a
single plant type in massive quantities in the place of native
plants. Tell me how this crop production does NOT use millions
and millions of tons of chemicals put on the ground and in the
air every year Tell me how these chemicals are NOT environmental
damage.

You have the typical, brainwashed view of meat/veggies. You've
read/written too many propaganda tracts and don't recognoze fact
from delusion anymore...

You dom lip-service, but the rest of your spew is all about how
meat is causing hunger.

"...Instead of that mistreated pig, all those resources could
have fed a human being, namely one of the 16,000 children who die
every day from hunger..."

Same statement, eat meat, starve kids...

"..I have a personal principle not to use more than my fair
share..."

same statement, eat meat, others starve because we're too selfish
to share...

"...Westerns pay for all the excess land, grain, water, and such
resources, thus denying those with less money (or less Western
credit) the opportunity to use those natural resources..."

Same statement, because I eat meat, others in the woirld
starve...

> That paragraph in no way contridicts the sentence you quoted.
> =======================

Taken as a whole, yes your spew does contrdict the one claim you
made, and obviously do not believe. You shoved it in to try to
fool those that are just as brainwashed as you.

You are a meat-eater, too, Harrison. You are no better than Etter,
heh,heh.

Where's your twin, Leefy?

You clearly have no interest in listening to what I say. I'm done here.

Of course you are. You've found your lies aren't getting through to those
that aren't totally brainwashed with the propaganda you spew...
Come on back when you think you can see facts and reality instead of
delusion...

Etter's diet contributes to a lot less deaths than yours or mine do.
