I suffer from depression and a food disorder. I try and eat a veggie diet
but go back to eating crap. I've done this a dozen times. I buy a pound of candy and in 18 hours it's gone. I suffer from all kinds of stomach disorders. I've had a lot of test done for my stomach and they can't find anything wrong with it. If I can pry my head out of my ass long enough to go on a veggie diet I wonder if it would help my stomach and my bloating? I wonder how long it would take to see some kind of differences? Any ideas how I can easily get into a veggie diet without my body dragging me to some fast food place or buying that milkshake or candy. I go to the doctors and tell them about my eating habits and they just look at me funny. Oh well I'm venting but would like to get a good diet. I'm 60 years old and I have been a vegan before my head got all clog up. When I start to run out of can food I run to the store and buy $100 worth of crap and after I eat half of it I give the other half away because of a guilt feeling and then start this crap all over again. I need to be put in a cell and given fruits and veggie for a month. After the headaches went away I bet I would feel better. The venting fool |

Could you make such a list or possibly there isn't anything you like (!) that could go on such a list? Do you really need to go vegan straight away - you have a food disorder and already buy complete crap anyway - so perhaps you could add non-vegan-but-healthy stuff to the list. Anyway, my point is just make such a list with good, fresh and clean food... fruits, vegetables... and perhaps (shudder) some dairy and eggs, even meat or whatever as well. Anything to get you off the real crap would be a huge improvement... there is not much point going onto what may be (for you) an extreme diet that you will loathe immediately - too much of a shock to the system, and you apparently don't have a lot of willpower as it is, so why make it too hard on yourself - if you see what I mean... But just do it now, don't put it off... and good luck! |

Thank you for your reply Today I went to the store and bought $40 worth of Fruits and Veggies and gave my mom 19 cans of canned food. Now I have a lot of canned food but it's just fruits and veggies in cans. I decided if I need to eat junk and can't help myself I won't bring any of it home. So my home will have pure food. It will take effort to go to the fast food places and buy crap but if I just have to say in the first month then so be it. I'm also going to quit going to my mothers for dinner every day. So I feel I'm on the right track and it's people like you that help me. Thank you Richard |

Thank you > Richard Well it sounds like you're off to a good start Richard, stay strong and given enough time you ought to see and feel the improvements to your well being... Reaching that point will be rewarding, and once you tangibly see the benefits should probably make it so much easier for you to continue and maybe even take things further (if need be). You don't have a food disorder. you have obsesive-compulsive disorder.
Lighten up! Don't let these people get into your head. Get out of your own head. It seems a waste of a life worrying about eating wrong when you could just eat what you like. I'm seventyfour and I like chilidogs. oscar-meyer weiners, and wolfbrand chili.. no beans, a lot of cheese. I usually eat 4. I like Pizza. I like Icecream. I eat yogurt every day. I'm not sure it's obsessive-compulsive. It depends on what is driving
the eating, a fear of something that will be "cured" by eating or just a urge to eat those kinds of foods because they are "forbidden". Either way, it may help to talk to a professional about it. They can help you find a eating plan you can stick to and one that is neither depriving you or over indulging. |
