You can't get through to fad dieters with logic. The only thing
convincing a fad dieter is inventing another fad diet that promises more
and quicker weight loss.

There is a grain of truth in what you say and that is why Atkins is
afraid of this doctor. Aside from being devastating with the facts he
is a very charismatic speaker.

Wot kind of legal action?

Not libel, surely? I thought that was a British thing and that freedom
of speech is allowed in the US? I'm curious to know more...

The US has libel and slander laws too.

Corporations will often threaten to destroy individuals who speak out
against them by threatening to take them to court eventhough the
individuals can prove that they are telling the truth.

The corporations can generate enough bogus litigation to make things
into a big court case that they with their legal staff can afford and
that individuals cannot.
