Default Vegan M.D. vs The Atkins Corporation

Dr. Michael Greger M.D. and vegan activist scared the Atkins Corporation
when he put up his website atkinsfacts.com.

The Atkins Corporation had good reason to be scared. Dr. Greger is
intelligent, very well educated, very well versed in the literature,
and a charismatic speaker.

I am sure they have nightmare visions of him going on the talk show
circuit to promote his upcoming anti-atkins book.

So, they threatened him.

Dr. Greger has retained lawyers and escalated his battle.

He has published the threats from The Atkins coporation and his rebuttal
to their points of argument on his web site:

I wish Dr Michael Greger all the best, this is a struggle only he can win.

Note that the established fact (read his article for the references) that
meat and dairy cause constipation, and thus cannot possibly be proclaimed to
be natural human foods is systematicaly ignored by meatarians.

I've been on the receiving end of spams sent with Dr. Greger's name on them.
Whoever is doing this joins low carb support groups under false pretenses,
then starts spewing PETA/Vegan dogma.

Many Vegans seem to act as though they alone have a monopoly on the truth.
Something as simple as the diversity of people leading to diverse and
differing nutritional needs escapes them.

I truly believe that vegans are hurting themselves. I don't claim to be an
expert, but one does not have to read much to see the match between human
viscera and that of a carnivore.

I tried to view the pdf of the Atkins letter. Maybe my viewer has a
problem, but the first page was missing. On page 2 I found careful
specifics cited in the letter. For example, they say they were accused of
having only two grams of fiber in the diet. They claim that the actual
diet, as in the book, provides 18 grams of fiber per day.

While I once saw the character Perry Mason say that the truth is a perfect
defense to liable, I feel that is not the situation here.

liable should read: libel

I rely on my spelling checker too much. Sometimes my error spells a valid
unintended word....

Diverse varieties of dogs all eat the same kinds of diet. Diverse kinds of
cattle all eat the same kinds of diet.

Humans are descended from largely plant eating primates. We share no dietary
traits in common with carnivores, we don't have their teeth, their digestive
system or their biochemistry.

No wonder they get constipated.

The truth is deduced by facts and logic, not feelings. The Atkins and low
carbo folk are not interested in science or health.

And that differs in what way from a cow-udder-hat-wearing hate filled loon?
