The Holiday season usually brings some new wine gadgets, and this year
is no exception. One offered by Frontgate caught my eye because of the expense. For only US $7999.00, you may have an eSommelier Wine Inventory System. This is a small desktop special purpose computer with attached bar code label maker. It uses a global wine database. It allows many kinds of searches, etc. For that price you could buy several normal computers and many versions of wine software. Of course if you buy this gadget, any SWMBO around is likely to have you hauled away by the people in white coats, or demand a gift of equal value for herself. Again Frontgate can solve this problem. They have a Jewelry Armoire Safe that is crafted in Italy by the Osvaldo Agresti studio. It is covered in rare woods, is 58 inches high and weighs 150 pounds. It costs $7499.00 plus $250 for home delivery. Since this huge safe would look so empty, you likely would have to stop by Cartier to get a jewel or two to put in it. That might pacify SWMBO. |
