Often Neiman Marcus offers a featured, extremely expensive gift. One offer was for his and her airplanes quite a few years ago. Their offer this year is a pre-booking of the Virgin Galactic Charter To Space for 6 people. Expected departure is in 2009. That will cost you US $1,764,000. This gift reminds me of an old Mae West legend. When someone suggested to Mae West that she must have been very good to be given such a fine fir coat, Mae replied to the effect that goodness had absolutely nothing to do with it! A gift this expensive might likely be a bribe for some important service. |
