We are going to Pa for a few days and would like to check out any
wineries that are worth touring. We have been to the wineries in the
southeast part of the state and know the winemakers i.e. Allergro,
Naylor, Nissley, Chaddsford. Can anyone recommend some other wineries?

One of the larger wineries in the eastern half of the state is Clover
Hill in Breinigsville, Lehigh County. If you have taste for the far-
out, try Long Trout Winery in Auburn, Schuylkill County; they have
wines from well-known grapes as well as fruit wines and other stuff
you would never imagine. I'm unfamiliar with winemakers from other
parts of the state.

I've never been impressed with Long Trout. Grew up less than a mile away
and I drive by there nearly every week. The nectarine wine (We All Live
in a Yellow Nectarine) is OK. They rest isn't worth mention IMO.

I like Nissley and Manatawny Creek Winery (www.manatawnycreekwinery.com)
in addition to Clover Hill.

I certainly won't argue with the Manatawny recommendation. They have
good Pinot Grigio and Merlot, and they are a nice bunch of folks,
always worth the trip to Douglassville.
