I'm interested in purchasing some Bordeaux wines that don't seem to be
available in our area (Houston) and would appreciate any suggestions or
recommendations regarding mail-order wine sources. If you have
suggestions comments, I would appreciate getting them. - (It's my
understanding that the legal restrictions to mail-order wine purchases
have moderated in Texas, but if anyone has informaton about this issue,
please let me know.

Some of the stores where I have happily bought Bordeaux in past
include Zachys (Scarsdale NY) , Post (Syossset NY), Woodland Hills
(LA, CA) , Wine Library (NJ), Premier Cru (Emeryville, CA), Grapes
(Rye NY), Hart Davis Hart (Chicago, Il) PJs (NYC), Macarthurs/Bassins
(DC), and Blicker-Pierce (CA).

While I don't have wine shipped from most NYC metro ones, all of the
NY/NJ stores have good shipping reps.

I've had consistent good results with:

Sam's in Chicago: http://www.samswine.com/
Zachy's in NYC: http://www.zachys.com/
PJ's in New Jersey: http://www.pjwine.com/

They all have extensive online catalogs that make it easy to find what
you want. I've done futures through Sam's and Zachy's as well.

Everybody ships to Texas now. No problems. UPS, Fedex, DHL have all
handled wine for me. Consider the weather in the summer months, of
course.

It seems that the market is ramping up quickly on the 2005 prices.
I've seen prices jump dramatically in the past few weeks especially
after the WS cover story on 2005 Bordeaux. While you can still find a
few bargains out there don't be surprised at finding wines at more
than double their release prices. Just yesterday I saw prices on
Chateau Armailhac move from $46.00 to $100 at a few retailers.

Well, there's always Columbia Crest and Turning Leaf.
