I asked about this wine two weeks ago after receiving a flyer from a
national discounter here in Germany. His Lordship St. Helier reported that it seemed to be an export only label and not to expect too much. Well, he was right, natcht. Clear with a greenish tint in the glass. Nice grapefruit nose, but not one that really jumped out the glass at you. The palate was very muted - citrus/passion fruit put in a brief appearance before quickly disappearing. Any prolonged swishing around in my mouth left me a slight taste of nail polish remover/acetone. At 7.99 euros, I'm not kicking myself for buying it, but I think I'll keep paying 10 - 12 euros more for Kim Crawford, Nautilus or Seresin. Dave -- There's a fine line between stupid and clever. |
