Tonight, I cobbled together a dish that I called "Morroccan paella" that
incorporated leftover Easter lamb. Jean suggested a Cotes du Rhone, but since none were ready in the cellar (mostly Texier) I opted for: 2001 Dom. de L'Espigouette (Bernard Latour) Vacqueyras nose: blueberry, game, dust palate: medium body, high acidity, fruit, funk This wines, from one of my favorite QPR CdR producers, was far better than the last bottle I'd tried a couple of years ago. Still lively and with plenty of fruit, it's something that I'll hang on to for another few years. Purchased at a steep discount of $9.60 a bottle a few years ago.
