Never ever heard of. Where does it come from - Kent, Niagara Falls,
Sonoma, India, Chile?

Kristone is a California sparkler made by Kendall-Jackson. It scores
well in rags like Wine Spectator. Consider it to be like Schramsberg.
WS rated the 1992 Blanc de Blanc 90 points in 1997.

Looking at wine lists, it still shows so it's probably fit for drinking.
I wouldn't wait too much longer, though. Maybe have it for New Year's
Eve?

Where should I have know 1) that it sparkles, and 2) that it has a
"faux French name"? "Kristone" doesn't sound French, and "Blanc de
Blancs" is used in just about any wine producing country, for
sparklers and surprisingly often also for still wines.

Sorry Michael, I figured that those who knew it would know and then I tried
to be cute about it. Kristone as a knock off for Cristal is where my mind
was wandering.

Sorry to bother you once again, but what is a "knock off"? (My
dictionairy only knows it as a verb.) Is it "substitute"?

a knock off more than just a substitute is an attempt to take advantage of
brand name. Such as selling a cheap watch with a name such as Rotex or
Rolez

Oh, now I see, thank you. In fact, "Kristone" and "Cristal" did
not sound (nor look) similar at all to me, but that might have to
do with the fact that I "hear" 'Cristal' in the French way.
