Hi.
I have a Chenin Blanc that has something floating in it. A solid substance of some kind. What could it be? Could it be drank? Thanks |

Maybe a bit of cork? Not uncommon in my experience.
Drinking cork can be a good thing if you're a swimmer ... more buoyancy. Of course :-) Dick Kimi wrote: > Hi. > > I have a Chenin Blanc that has something floating in it. A solid substance > of some kind. What could it be? Could it be drank? > > Thanks > > |

It is such a substantial amount of substance that I have a hard time
believing it is cork, but of course that is the natural assumption I made as well. It is so much though. "Dick R" > wrote in message ... > Maybe a bit of cork? Hi again Kimi,
I have had a couple of experiences that I can only attribute to a dry cork. I opened the bottle, poured a glass and there was a cork "powder" floating on top. Might be a situation where, when the corkscrew penetrates the entire length of a dry cork, some fine bits of cork fall into the bottle. Didn't want to throw the bottle away so I ran the wine through a coffee filter. If the substance floats, you would think it almost has to be cork, but I don't know for sure. Just a thought. I have not opened the bottle yet. I guess I should, just to see what the
substance is. :-) "Dick R" > wrote in message ... > Hi again Kimi, > I have had a couple of experiences that I can only attribute > to a dry cork.
