I finally found this one remaning bottle that had been misplaced for a
few years. When younger, it was a very decent SB of a middle-of-the-road style - not extreme in any respect. The wine should have been drunk earlier. It is quite drinkable and has softened and smoothed. However it has also lost enough fruit and herbal character so that the oak is showing through too much for my taste. The back label says the wine received 4 months of aging in small oak cooperage. While oak was about right and in the backgrond when the wine was at peak, it now is all too apparent. Even without the oak, the wine would now be a bit flat. My mailbox is always full to avoid spam. To contact me, erase from my email address. Then add . I do not check this box every day, so post if you need a quick response. |
