Default Woodbury Petit Sirah desert wine?

Someone gave me this bottle, Woodbury 1980 Alexander Valley Petit Siray
reserve "desert wine". It's obviously a red. It shows awards from the
1982 LA County fair.

I can't find out anything about it. Would this be a port style wine? If
so it might still be good.

I think the guy who gave it to me would have only done so if he knew he
wouldn't like it!

I still have two bottles of 1978 Woodbury California Vintage Port. I
would guess your 1982 is made somewhat in the port style. Quady and
Ficklin also sold port style wines in that era such as the 1975 Quady
Vintage Port and NV Ficklin Tinta Port. Ficklin used varieties of grapes
used in true port. The other two used various other reds. Perhaps Quady
stopped using port on labels for legal reasons or just to avoid
confusion with the real thing.

I'm not familiar with it, but my guess is it's a late harvest wine
rather than a port-style (fortified) wine. Might be quite good if you
like sweet wines.
