Has anyone tasted this recently ? A local wine sale in Colorado USA
has several cases at what seems like a good price (under $30). I may just buy one and pop to check it out before buying more - but would like opinions if anyone has tried it recently. (Tapestry is their bordeaux style blend- for those not familiar) thanks, bob |

My understanding is the affected years seem to be '97-'99, in most of the
"serious" reds - from Napa CS to Rutherford, up through Tapestry to GdL and the block wines. Dale Dale Williams Drop "damnspam" to reply |

I thought the wine was very good. Complex, soft and approachable, peppery, cassis / dark fruit. I am no expert but could not detect a flaw in the wine, what am I looking for to detect TCA? I have had a corked bottle on occasion but still not sure I know the taste / smell. bob |

The percentage of TCA found in the BVs ranged from about 1.5 ppt to 5 ppt
(people debate the perception threshold, for most people between 2.5 & 3.5 probably). I've had bottles where TCA wasn't perceptible. But if buying a '97-'99 BV today I'd be sure to ask policy on flawed returns, Dale Dale Williams Drop "damnspam" to reply |
