Dinner with friends...I ordered sashimi tuna tacos as a starter and a
veal meatloaf that was awesome. As others ordered pork and salmon I ordered a bottle of 2007 Martinelli Bondi Ranch-Water Trough Vilneyard Pinot Noir. I've tasted a number of the Martinelli Pinit this year and so far this one was my favorite. A bit more restrained (yet still quite Parkerized). The wine was dark ruby red in the glass. Plenty of smoky notes and ripe concentrated black cherry aromas on the nose. Somewhat jammy, forward black fruits and tart cherry on the palate. The acidity is sdther but not formidable. Many at the table loved the wine..I was just ok with it. "B-" |
