With dinner last night of grilled Florida Snapper I opened a bottle of
2009 Cakebread Napa Sauvignon Blanc. Pale greenish gold in the glass. Not much nose mostly orchard fruits. A bit tight at first then opening up after a few minutes in the glass. Apples and honeydew, bright acidity on the finish. Cakebread is a "go to" SB in our house in the summer and this one is not bad for around $20. "B" |

Did a Cakebread tasting dinner at Bijoux in N. Dallas and recall their Chardonnay, but don't think they showed the SB. I've still got some '03 Cabernet and an '06 Rubiyat tucked away. Will have to try the Sauvignon Blanc. |

"B" Haven't seen the SB stocked here in New Mexico, but at $20, I would look for it. Flavor profile is one I like as I am so tired of Marlborough SB. |

For clarification "around $20" is $24.99 minus a 15% case discount. |
