Opened a bottle of 2011 LWC (Loring Wine Company) Santa Rita Hills
Pinot Noir with leftover ribs and "calico" beans ( a mild form of ranch/or baked beans) and some fresh sauteed morels. The wine is bright, clear and medium purple in the glass. Sourced from a number of sites it has the hallmarks of a blended wine. It's soft and approachable with just enough stuffing to keep it interesting. Typical pinot fruit a bit of black and red fruits with a touch of asian spice. A bit more acid would make it a tad more my style but it was a good QPR at $25. I've had some of LWC's single vineyard bottlings which I prefer but at this was servicable and enjoyable. "B" |
