Spanish wine Bodega Langa Pi 3.14... 2011 **
Smells like cheap 5E salento primotivo, tasted like overly jammy zinfandel without the spice. On top of that nauseating jam, vanilla custard. It is made from a strange grape called Consejon. I think it must be in family with primotivo/zinfandel. My wife liked it as an aperitif. If I didnt have leftover Quarterback to have with dinner, I'd rather have the vintage port I had opened for dessert with the food. Good thing I got it on sale for 12E, down from 20E. |

When you reach a certain point in your wine drinking story... it is more about the alcohol you put through your liver or the pleasure you get than about the price of a 12E bottle of wine. Overly Jammy Zinfandel without the spice (...) vanilla custard... looks like a wine I would not like to drink. Even at 1E it would be a bad purchase. |

That's why I started not drinking wine when I'm out for dinners with others or banquets that I dont like. It can be awkward at a banquet when you sit next to the person who selected the wines, though. Happened to me haha. > Overly Jammy Zinfandel without the spice (...) vanilla custard... looks > like a wine I would not like to drink. Even at 1E it would be a bad > purchase. I just put it in the fridge as a cooking wine, so its not all wasted. |
