Default Wine & Film Pairings

I have come up with a list of 50 films which desperately need wine
pairing suggestions.
I tried to make the list somewhat international, and threw in some
obvious choices along with some more obscure selections (and some
which stump me completely). To get the ball rolling, I have also made
a a few pairing picks.
Go go go!

Something Australian and tacky. Yellowtail should do the trick. Or
Australian Sparkling Shiraz (better still if it says Burgundy on the label)

Better still, a rare Australian Muscat or Tokay. Goes well with chocolate.

Hi, I have made three suggestions one for each of the first three. They
are all Niagara, Ontario Wines without Vintage except the Trius Brute which
won a silver medal. I'll keep thinking re the other 47 motion pictures.

I believe Hannibal suggests a nice chianti with the liver & fava
beans? I selected the 1991 vintage to reflect the year the film was
released. But i'm open to the Amarone....name one!

I think we're both right; the Hunter novel on which
the movie is based suggests a "big Amarone", and the
movie changes it to a Chianti.

No, Dana is correct--it was Amarone. The movie version changed it
to chianti, probably because the film studio feared that the
movie public would have no idea what the word "Amarone" meant.

Whale Rider was filmed on the East Coast of NZ, north of Gisborne, a wine
region noted for two varieties - Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.

However, in the recently competed Air New Zealand Wine Awards, a small
Gisborne winery stunned the Marlborough producers by winning the trophy for
the champion Sauvignon Blanc.

Amor-Bendall "Limited Edition" Sauvignon Blanc 2004 is a single vineyard
wine made in miniscule quantities. Rich, pungent, herbal but with nuances of
tropical fruits (passionfruit and pineapple).

To those in the know, this one out-Pallisers Palliser Estate SB.

Should be quite a good match with whale meat too - served raw of course!!!
