Hello,
I go, I come back. I´ve been to South of France to investigate our very modest apartment in Nice, and, on the way home (home as in Sweden) we dropped by Chapoutier in Tain. We like Chapoutier, even though it´s big, and suave, and sophisticated (we tend to prefer small family producers with a sleeping dog in the parking place). Anyway. In the larder we found the Cote-Rotie 1997, which I proposed to buy for a Special Celebration in 2007. Don´t, said the man. It will be off. It´s good now, but in two years time, it will be past its prime. Is this really so? I thought the Northern Rhone wines (C-R, H) had quite good staying power. What says the group?
