If a bottle's cork is slightly pushed out does that always mean the wine is
heat damaged or could there be another explanation? JK |

It's likely it's been through some temperature change (although, it's possible that it was subjected to cold rather than heat). Damage is always a possiblity, but it's also possible for it to be OK, and it's possible for heat damange to occur with a normal looking cork. |

The simple answer in my opinion and experience is yes. However that is not
ALWAYS the case. I think sometimes the winery does not get all the corks in bottles perfectly. I have found that if there was heat damage that is the first sign. Other signs that include the foil capsule will not spit. That juice has come through the cork and carmelized to the foil capsule. You might see signs of leakage on label or capsule. If I were in a retail store and the cork was up at all I back off as a precaution. But that does not mean 100% that it was damaged.
