Default Full Bodied Zin

Do the better ones get the respect they deserve? Some of them are
fantasic, really full bodied, "chewy" highly structured wine with all
kinds of nuance. Yet I sense they never seem to get much press, except
for the occasional story about the varietals original roots back in Italy.

I think the cult Zins, Turley, Rosenblum, Ridge, and I would throw in
Seghesio receive more respect. Their Zins are outstanding, Rosenbulm's 2003
Rockpile Road being a favorite of mine. I think the everyday drinking Zins
like Rancho Zabaco Dancing Bull or Ravenswood Vintners Blend do no get their
respect as decent wines at a decent price. Just my opinion as a Zin lover.

Yeah, I agree on the lower end value full bodied zins. Cult zins is a
good way to describe those higher end zins, which is what I'm thinking
of regarding respect from the industry.
