I'm curious as to what foods and desserts would be best suited to these
wines that we purchased in New Zealand some time back. The Stoneleigh Marlborough Riesling (2004) has a fairly citrusy character with a soft lime nose, and is slightly dry. The Chardonnay from Hawke's Bay (2004) has a similarly citrus-based character in the taste, but with a slight hint of melon as well. It's also a little dry and fairly acidic. What main courses and desserts would be best suited to these? I'm not too much of a non-vegetarian (often eat chicken, but little else) - so are there any specific vegetarian dishes and cheeses that should be paired with these two wines (both for separate meals)? |
