Default Wh was it that mentioned Presque Isle?

All,

I remember reading back in the posts about someone ordering everything
from Presque Isle.

Would that be www.piwines.com ?

If so, I was wondering if any of you have ever been to the winery or
seen pictures of the place. I live only a few miles from there and I
will be buying most if not all of my supplies, chemicals, etc. from
them in the future, especially that I don't need to pay shipping.

The prices are great, and beat grape and granary where I have been
buying before.

If anyone is interested, I can post a few pictures on the web and link
to them from here. There is an amazing stream with mini waterfalls
just outside, and I can show a pic of their bulk juice tanks too.

I am in no way affiliated with them, just passing on some info.

That's the place. It's 45 minutes away from me. I took a little over 100 lbs
of my white grapes there last year to be crushed, destemmed, and pressed. All
that for $6. Pretty good deal. As far as being a winery that caters to
on-site consumption, they are extremely small. I'd guess their main business
is equipment and ingredients.

Yes, I have been therre. It is about 4.5 days from me. I live in Houston,
Texas. I was visiting the area and stopped in and picked up a few things.
A very strange place. A huge inventory. You can get things from them that
you cannot easily find anywhere else. But they have no showroom. Just a
small room with a counter. You need to pick out what you want from their
catilogue and give them a list then the fill it. I also visited Walkers
Fruit Basket and got several juices for wine making. They would not be too
far from you (at least not compared to me) and they have good product.

I'll have to look into Walker's Fruit Basket too, I think I've heard
of it but can't remember from where...

Here are some pics if anyone is interested. A couple of shots of the
stream outsider their place and one of the juice casks out back. I
don't think the front one will come through, I tried to get it to work
several times, but not much luck.

One of the owners of Presque Isle wines, Laurie Boettcher, is from my part
of the country. Consequently, her brother has opened up a store here in
Fargo. I've never been to the original location, but Mike Jore has a real
nice shop downtown here. They are very active in education and supplying
home winemakers as well as new and established wineries. They are trying to
reach west to supply the upper midwest wineries with equipment and supplies.
I don't know what their PA store looks like, but I know the folks are
knowledgable and very helpful. They also provide good products at good
prices.
