Default Recipe Question

I see alot of recipes for non grape wines, but can't find any
(online) for standard wines like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel,
Chablis, etc.

Anyone have a basic Zin recipe for say 1 gallon, made from Sam's
Choice White Grape juice.

Thanks

Stu

Sam's Choice White Grape juice is not the juice of Zinfandel grapes...
You can't make Zinfandel Wine without Zinfandel Grapes. You may be
able to make this wine from your juice:

The reason for that is that only grapes contain everything necessary to make
table wine. All other fruits require addition of sugar, water and acid in
some combination prior to fermentation. IOW, there isn't any "recipe" for
making wine from grapes.

It is true that grape winemakers often "adjust" grape juice to achieve a
better balance among those three elements, but it is usually relatively
slight. Many wines are made with no adjustment at all because the fruit
came in from the field with perfect numbers.

One problem you might have is that you can't really make a red wine
from white juice.

Do a search for "jack kellar" he has hundreds of recipes on his website.
I've used some and they are good.

You are asking in the off season. This is the season for most of us to make
our country wines. Grapes come in in early fall and at that time you will
see lots of us discussing grape wines. In the mean time, if you want to
make some nice grape wines try some of the kit wines for Zin or Chardonnay
or Gewürztraminer or just about anything you want. Many of them work very
well and you can get them any time of the year and they are really easy. If
you have questions about kit wines feel free to ask.

The springtime in the U.S. is also an opportunity for grape winemakers,
with the availabilty of pretty high quality Chilean wine grapes. The
Chilean harvest season should begin in earnest this month and next. I'm
trying to develop a source for these grapes.

Also, wine kits (frozen pails of clarified juice (whites) and must
(reds) go on sale in April out here in California !!!!!
